W.A.L.T upload my maths task to my blog and write about it.
Toady for maths we had to use algorithms to solve decimal problems for an example
12.35
+10.20
22.55
When you use an algorithm, you have to line up the place value digits on top of one another and then you add them together, in vertical lines.
Today my follow up task was to solve some and show my working, here it is below.
Next time to improve on my work I could add a bit more description of task.
My favourite part was writing examples because I got to think of a question.
My least favourite part was writing because it took too long.

Second Kiwi Can lesson
W.A.L.T upload our blogging task to our blog and write about it.
Today was the second lesson of Kiwi Can. Our blogging task today was to write a reflection about today's Kiwi Can. Kiwi can is when either one or two people come to schools around the Far North, they tech us catch phrases and activity's. Today our activity was to play octopus. Octopus is a game were you call out a colour or something that a person is wearing and then the taggers try and tag them. Today the catch phrase were ' When times get tough, I don't despair, I bounce back up and persevere'. For the last two weeks we have been learning about resilience and perseverance. Resilience means bouncing back up even when nobody is watching, perseverance means never giving up.
Next time I could improve on my description of our task.
My favourite thing was playing octopus, because it was fun to have a run around.
My least favourite part was sitting in the circle, because it was uncomfortable sitting on hard floor.
Do you have Kiwi can at your school?

Space art work.
W.A.L.T upload our art onto our blog and write about it.
This term for inquiry we have been learning about space and our solar system, last week we had to draw some planets and lots of other stuff that matches space, then we had to colour our drawings in with pastels, after that we had to paint a galaxy background only using sponges, while waiting for that to dry we cut out our drawings and then glued them on the galaxy background and there's your space art work.
Here's mine below.
Next time I could improve on my description of task.
My favourite part was drawing the satellite because that's my thing.
My least favourite part was colouring in because it was really hard.

Reading task.
I.A.L.T upload my reading task to my blog and write about it.
Today for our reading task we had to write a letter to the author answering his questions. The questions were in the book that we have been reading for 2 weeks, it is called 'Becoming a martian', the story is about mars.
Here's the questions.
Do you still want to be martian?
How would you feel about spending eight months in a tiny space with a bunch of strangers?
How long could you stand living in a colony that contained just a handful of people?
Could you cope with just texts and email?
would you be willing to put your faith in machines – the ones that make all your oxygen, grow all your food, and supply all your water?
Does the excitement outweigh the danger?
Here's mine below.
Next time to improve on my post I could add a bit more description of my task in.
My favourite part was picking the background colour because there was so many to choose from.
My least favourite part was writing because it took for ever.

Maths task
I.A.L.T upload my maths task to my blog and write about it.
For the last few months we have been learning about decimals, two days ago we had to do a maths task about decimals. We had to fill in the number that added together to make a whole. To solve this problem I did this: 0.87 + 0.03= 0.90 + 0.1= 1 whole.
Here's mine below.
My favourite part was changing the colour of the box because there was so many to choose from.
My least favourite part was typing all the numbers down because it took to long.
Next time to improve on my work I could add a bit more description about my task.
